NAFDAC Warns Against WAP Sensual Enhancement Capsules After Hidden Prescription Drugs Are Discovered

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public alert following the voluntary recall of WAP Sensual Enhancement Capsules. The recall comes after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found that the product contains three prescription medicines that were not listed on its label. Health authorities warn that these hidden ingredients could pose serious health risks, particularly for people with heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or those taking certain medications.

What Happened?

NAFDAC announced that Best Supplements Best Prices Company is voluntarily recalling all batches of WAP Sensual Enhancement Capsules after testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revealed the presence of undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients.

Laboratory analysis found that the capsules contained sildenafil, tadalafil, and flibanserin—prescription medicines that were not disclosed on the product label. The supplement is marketed online through eBay in the United States, and its country of origin is unknown.

Because consumers were not informed that the product contained prescription medicines, health authorities have classified it as a significant safety risk.

Why It Matters To Your Health

Many people assume that products marketed as herbal or dietary supplements contain only natural ingredients. However, some unregulated products may secretly contain prescription medicines to make them appear more effective.

In this case, the hidden ingredients can be especially dangerous for people with existing medical conditions.

Sildenafil and tadalafil are prescription medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction. When taken together with nitrate medicines used for heart disease or chest pain, they can cause a sudden and dangerous drop in blood pressure. This can increase the risk of fainting, stroke, heart attack, or other life-threatening complications.

Flibanserin, another undeclared ingredient, is approved for treating low sexual desire in premenopausal women. It can cause severe drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure, and fainting, particularly when combined with alcohol.

Because these ingredients were not listed on the label, consumers may unknowingly expose themselves to serious drug interactions and side effects.

What You Can Do

To protect yourself from unsafe supplements:

  • Do not use WAP Sensual Enhancement Capsules if you have purchased the product.
  • Avoid buying sexual enhancement supplements from unverified websites or online marketplaces.
  • Always purchase medicines and supplements from licensed pharmacies and reputable healthcare providers.
  • Read product labels carefully and be cautious of products that promise quick or dramatic sexual performance improvements.
  • Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any supplements you are taking, especially if you have heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain, severe dizziness, fainting, or difficulty breathing after using any sexual enhancement product.

Understanding The Issue

Dietary supplements and herbal products are expected to clearly list every active ingredient they contain. When manufacturers fail to disclose pharmaceutical ingredients, consumers cannot make informed decisions about their health or identify potential drug interactions.

The three medicines found in WAP Sensual Enhancement Capsules are all prescription drugs that should only be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.

Sildenafil and tadalafil belong to a group of medicines known as phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors. They improve blood flow and are commonly prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction. Although effective when prescribed appropriately, they are not safe for everyone. People taking nitrate medications for heart conditions may experience dangerously low blood pressure if these medicines are taken together.

Flibanserin works differently. It affects certain chemicals in the brain and is approved for treating hypoactive sexual desire disorder in some women. It carries important safety warnings because combining it with alcohol or certain medicines can cause severe drowsiness, fainting, and dangerously low blood pressure.

One of the biggest concerns with undeclared ingredients is that consumers do not know they are taking prescription medicines. This increases the risk of accidental overdose, unexpected side effects, allergic reactions, and potentially life-threatening drug interactions.

The incident also highlights the growing problem of unregulated supplements sold online. Products purchased through unofficial websites or online marketplaces may bypass normal regulatory checks, making it difficult to verify their safety, quality, and authenticity.

Before using any supplement that claims to improve sexual performance, weight loss, or muscle growth, speak with a pharmacist or healthcare professional. If a product promises unusually fast or dramatic results, it is worth exercising extra caution.

When To Speak With A Healthcare Professional

Speak with a pharmacist or doctor if:

  • You have used WAP Sensual Enhancement Capsules.
  • You experience dizziness, fainting, chest pain, or difficulty breathing after taking the product.
  • You take medicines for heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or other chronic medical conditions.
  • You are unsure whether a supplement is safe to use alongside your prescription medicines.
  • You have concerns about possible side effects or drug interactions.

Seek emergency medical attention immediately if you experience severe chest pain, loss of consciousness, difficulty breathing, or symptoms of a severe allergic reaction after using any sexual enhancement product.
